How to use Linkflux

A short guide to each part of the app, in plain words. Read it top to bottom once, or jump to the part you need. Each “Try it in practice” button opens a hands-on tour on sample links, so your own bookmarks are never touched.

1. Linkflux in one minute

Linkflux keeps all your useful links in one tidy dashboard: sorted into categories, marked by priority, and searchable in a second.

It works in your browser and can be installed like an app on your laptop or phone. Once installed it opens in its own window and works without internet.

How to do it

  1. Add links: type them in, drop them on the page, or share them from your phone.
  2. Sort them into categories and give important ones a priority.
  3. Find anything with search, and arrange cards in the order you like.
  4. Keep a backup so your links are always safe.

Good to know: New here? Take the 2-minute practice tour from ⚙️ Manage → 🎓 Take the practice tour. You practise on sample links; your own bookmarks are never touched.

2. Add a bookmark

Every bookmark has a title, a link and a category. Priority and notes are optional.

How to do it

  1. Open ⚙️ Manage and choose ➕ Add Bookmark.
  2. Type or paste the link, give it a title and pick (or type) a category.
  3. Optionally set a priority and add a note, then press Add.

Good to know: If you add a link you already have, Linkflux warns you first so you do not end up with duplicates.

3. Drop links in, or share them from your phone

On a laptop, drag a link from any web page, or the little icon in the address bar, and drop it anywhere on Linkflux.

On Android, once Linkflux is installed, it appears in the Share menu of every app.

How to do it

  1. Laptop: drag one link onto Linkflux. The Add form opens already filled in; choose a category and press Add.
  2. Laptop: drag several links at once. They are all added to a category called “Unsorted”, skipping any you already have.
  3. Android: in any app tap Share → Linkflux. The link arrives ready to save.

Good to know: iPhone does not let apps receive shared links. On iPhone, copy the link and use ➕ Add Bookmark.

How to do it

  1. Tap a category chip to see only its bookmarks; tap All to see everything.
  2. Press the 📌 pin on a category to keep it at the front of the list.
  3. To rename or remove categories, open ⚙️ Manage → 🗂️ Manage Categories.

Good to know: When you have many categories, only the pinned and first few show; “+ more” reveals the rest.

6. Priorities

Give a bookmark a priority so the important ones stand out: Important + Urgent, Important + Not Urgent, or Urgent + Not Important.

How to do it

  1. Set the priority when you add or edit a bookmark.
  2. Open the 🎯 By Priority tab to see bookmarks grouped by priority.
  3. Tap a priority chip to show only that group.

Good to know: Most bookmarks need no priority. Use it for the few links you must come back to.

10. Keep your bookmarks safe

Your bookmarks are stored on your own device, inside the browser. Nothing is uploaded. But if you clear your browser’s data, the browser deletes them too, so keep a backup.

In Chrome, Edge or Brave on a laptop, Linkflux can also keep a copy in a file on your computer that updates by itself every time you change something.

How to do it

  1. Laptop (Chrome, Edge, Brave): ⚙️ Manage → 💾 Save to a file on this computer, and choose where to keep it (for example Documents).
  2. Any browser: ⚙️ Manage → 📤 Export Backup (JSON) downloads a copy of everything.
  3. To bring a backup back: ⚙️ Manage → 📁 Import Backup (JSON) and choose the file.

Good to know: If your browser data was ever wiped, open Linkflux and choose the same file again: Linkflux sees that the file is newer and offers to load it. Linkflux also reminds you if you have not backed up for two weeks.

13. Bring in your browser bookmarks

Already have bookmarks in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari? Bring them all in at once; their folders become categories.

How to do it

  1. In your browser, export your bookmarks to an HTML file (Chrome: Bookmarks manager → ⋮ → Export bookmarks).
  2. In Linkflux: ⚙️ Manage → 📥 Import from Browser and choose that file.

Good to know: Links you already have are skipped, so importing twice does no harm.

14. Coming from DazzlingDiva Bookmarks

Linkflux is the new version of DazzlingDiva Bookmarks. Your old bookmarks come across in two steps.

How to do it

  1. In the old app: Manage → Export Backup (JSON).
  2. In Linkflux: ⚙️ Manage → 📁 Import Backup (JSON) and choose that file.

Good to know: Everything comes across: titles, links, categories, priorities and notes.

15. Your privacy

Your bookmarks never leave your device. Site icons are fetched from Google so cards look nice; if you prefer, switch them off in ⚙️ Manage → 🖼️ Site Icons.

Good to know: Device Sync is coming soon. It will keep your bookmarks the same on your 3 devices, locked with a password only you know before they leave your device.
